chain moray eel

My local shop has small(8-10 inch) chain moray eels. I have a 36 gallon tank with a blue tang, percula clown, saltwater catfish, midas blennie, and a basselete ( a rather ecclectic mix, i know). The owner says the chain will not eat the fish i have but i am suspicious. Research has been conflicting. Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge about this species and its compatability with my fish?

Hey whats up? I had a chainlink moray (is that what you mean chainlink moray?) and he was a really cool eel! Though you should definitly go bigger, 55gal min. The eel may eat you blennie, dont know for sure. My chainlink never ate any of my fish, but he did attack my puffer

I know you don’t think putting an eel that can get over 2’ in length in an already overstocked tank is a good idea. Why don’t you wait till you have a much larger system, then you can think about buying the eel.

am i really overstocked? even though there are five fish, only the catfish is over 3 inches long and he is only about 4.5 or 5 inches long. THe clown, basslet and blenny are rather small. Also, jmick, or anyone, i was told a nice alternative to an eel is a convict blennie/ engineer goby. It looked nice but cant find out much about them. I assume it wouldnt get along with the midas blennie at the least. Is this right?
