change from CC to DSB

I would like to change my subsrate in my FOWLR 2 y/o, 30g tank from cc to dsb. What is the best way to do this and how much would it disrupt my current water conditions(which are very good)? I assume there will be significant cloudiness.? Should I remove fish first? Finally how much would I need for a good base (in LBS and depth). Thanks!

The last couple of weeks I've seen on this board several step by step procedures to change your CC to DSB.
I did it two weeks ago, following those instructions, it was not difficult at all, the water parameters remain in the levels they were, and the look of the tank is much better now.
Do a search and you'll find them.
