Changing to a sump...

I am currently running a wet dry on my salt water tank. I would like to switch to a sump. How can I do this without shocking my system.
It is a 100 gallon tank with about 100 pounds of sand and 125 pounds of live rock

I understand it best to remove the bioballs a few at a time over a month or so. But isn't a wet-dry a sump jsut with bioballs? Just take them out slow so as not to get an amonia spike. As much rock and sand as you have that sould be able to carry the organic load.

What i want to do though is put a 30 gallon sump down for more water volume.
Basically i want to increase the size of my wetdry/sump without losing anything.
