Chateo in sump?

Can I put Chateo in my sump with a strong light on it? I just wanted to lower my trates some and grow Chateo but did not want to add a seperate fuge right now but maybe later down the road.

My sump pump is about a 300 gph pump so I figured I would be having to regulate it down if anything.

see what happens when you get it in there. most people say to have the cheato tumbling from the flow

Is it isolated from your return pump, do you have filter over the influent side of your pump?

I dont yet. My sump is not set up, I am waiting for my overflow box to come in this week. I figured I would have to have something to keep the chateo from getting sucked into the return pump.

I have chateo in my sump but it does not tumble....maybe since it has grown so large. I had almost no growth when I was running my sump light on a reverse lighting schedule but once I left it on 24/7 it has grown like The Blob.

mine personally is a wet/dry and the only thing that is seperating the cheato from the return pump is a sponge
