Cheap Chiller

My 60 gallon FOWLR tank is about 82 degrees right now.
Any tips on chillin it back down or recomendations for a cheap chiller for a tank my size?
Any input is appreciated.

Run a fan across the top of your tank.... and lower AC a couple degrees..cheapest solution I can think of.....

What kind of fan......I looked at computer fans and they dont plug into the wall?

I heard of people using those clip on fans you can buy at discount auto supplies.

Freeze a 2 liter soda bottle with water in it and throw it in the sump.

I bought a clip on desk fan at walmart for like 12 bucks. Run it accross the top of the tank water. A/C in house is 78 and I was at 87 in the DT after my brand new chiller stopped working.
Was pleasantly surprised when the fan worked to keep the tank at an nice 78 degrees about equal with house temps. Needless to say I didn't replace the broken new chiller. (I did buy a lot of livestock instead though!

)

I also bought the same clip on fan at Walmart and it works great. I have it blowing into the sump.

the fan trick really does work.
Actually, I've never used it on my DT, but I had a batch of water going and when I went to start doing the water change, the temp was up around 88F (heater working way over it's setting). I turned the heater off, but the water wasn't cooling very fast at all, like maybe one degree/hour. Wanting to do the change soon, I placed a standing fan blowing across the tub and the water dropped around 5-6 degrees in less than an hour.

While I was surfing for lighting, I ran accross these clip on fans made especially for fish tanks with MH lighting. Price was reasonable also. I can't remember what site it was on though. Google may work.

Computer fans run on 12 volts DC... Just buy a 12 volt transformer from Radio Shack and wire it up to the fans. I have 2 on my tank and they work very well.

someone posted a picture of a tunze fan that mounts facing the water(you dont see it sticking above) and has a led light on it i dont know how available it is and how well it works but tunze usually makes a great product
