So, where do you think is the cheapest place to get some compact flourescent lights and ballast? I need the ballast and 2 x 55watt bulbs. I know AH Supply has one for about $65 and Hello lights for about $70 plus bulbs. But, I thought of getting 2 ballast so I can have my actinic come on 1 hour before and go off 1 hour after my day bulbs.
Thanks.

LOL
I just found them at home depot. The advance adapters that Hello lights and Marine Depot use. $21.49 for the ballast. Then I just need to get endcaps and clamps.

I was at Lowe's this past weekend and noticed alot of different ballasts were available. They are rated for individual bulb types. So what type of bulb is a power compact? The prices were great assuming they can fire 1,2 or more power compacts. Anyone have a link or knowledge on all the different type of bulbs in our hobby other than the standard NO (T-12's)?

Ok, well, I did some more research. The Advance ballast part # for 2 55 watt power compact bulbs is REL-2TT-S50 and for 1 55 watt is REL-1TT-S50. But, AHSUPPLY is a good deal if you get the parts via DIY. I think it will run $100.31 if you get one ballast for 2 55watt, 1 10,000K bulb, 1 actinic 03 bulb, 2 end caps, one power cord, and 4 bulb clips. It would be about $120 if you get the waterproof. But I found a place by my house for everything with waterproof end caps for $105. I should have it by Thursday. YEAH!!!
Oh, but inlandreef.com states that their Custom Sea Life bulbs, at about $35 a piece will run on the Advance REL-2P60 ballast that you can buy from them for $52, or at home depot for $21.50.
