hello there,
have an IO hydrometer. brought home a cup of water from the beach and tested. reading on hydrometer 1.028-1.029 - 76 degrees
reading on tank 1.025 - 80 "
reading on RO water 1.004 - 76 "
not sure the specific gravity of the ocean,
do you think it would be safe to raise the reef tank up to 1.028 using this hydrometer
I am wondering if all this time the specific gravity on the tank has been low 1.021-1.022
what are the negative effects of low specific gravity?
I thought about buying another cheapo hydrometer, who's to say that the next one would be accurate
waiting to find a good refractometer at a good price
thanks for your time
