Yes they are stomatella sp. I asked for an identification on one of these about a week ago. I have two in my tank and sometimes they will stand up on their foot and shoot "puffs of smoke". It is very cool to see.

Is that what shoots of my live rock then?? I have been wondering. I must have about a dozen or so.

I think we have those, too. Do they look like a snail without a shell? I am assuming they are harmless to a reef?

i think it is a snail without a shell the good thing about them is they only breed enough for what u need for your tank

Yup. They are great cleaners. I had piles of them before Katrina. I keep hoping someone locally will pop up with a bunch of them so I can get a few from them.

They have a shell, but I do not think they can retract into it. It is a very small and flat shell for their size.
