Check This Sucker Out!!!! My New Emperor

I just got this guy 2 nights ago and this is the coolest thing that I have seen
. This angel is right in between a juvi and an adult. My picture sucks but you can see the yellow coming thru on his sides. The bright blue is coming thru his bottom fins also. He is eating great and he is actually about 4 inches long already.

The picture just doesn't do him justice. He has been eating everything I feed my fish. I put algae on a clip and he eats that and he grazes on my rocks a lot. He also eats the flakes I put in there at feeding time. It is really cool looking to see the change in color. I would never had guessed that a fish this color would look like an adult emperor.

Sweet fish. It is really amazing the morphing some of these fish do through age. Many moons ago I had a Red Coris Wrasse that over 3 years went from a 2.5" baby to an entirely different fish at 8". Lost it to a tank "explosion" and a very wet floor and extremely mad mom.

I'm so jealous!!! I want one of these fish so bad, but I don't dare put him in my reef tank. I guess I'll have to get a second tank one of these days just for him.

Well I got a tank for fish only but I ended up putting some coral in it anyway before I bought him. He hasn't touched anything yet but a piece of the SPS I just bought last night
. I figure whatever he picks at I will just move to my other tank. Its the price you pay for being stubborn

Congrats on a great Emperor. i have had mine for about 7 months and got him as a juvi and he has begun to change. He's from X-mas Island. Here's some pics of him starting to change. Regards, Tim

The last shot was taken about 2 weeks ago I will take a new pic tonight. i think he has changed a bit more since the last pic.

That is an awesome looking juvie!!! I have one who I have had for about two months. His name is Lionus! He is like a dog to me!!!!! When he sees me come into the room he gets excited and sims to his side up and down the tank almost as if he is saying hello! If i go to one side of the tank he comes over there, if i drag my finger along the side of the tank he follows
I love this fish!!!! He is one of the smartest fish I have ever seen, you will love yours... believe me!!!!!
