Check your ATO and float valves

Just a friendly reminder to check your ATO or float valves to make sure they are working properly. Post your result and reactions here.

Checked mine a couple weeks ago when my water level got too high in DT. turned out it wasn't the ATO but my poor mandarin got into the overflow and got stuck And my overflow emptied.

My float and RO/DI are attached in my refugium in the basement. Not much danger of flooding the house, so my main concern is hypo-salinity. I take a look at the equipment down there daily, and after a couple of years, I've had no issues with my float style ATO.

I keep strainers on all my overflows just so something like that doesn't happen. Snails can find their way into the overflows too, you know...
