Chemical War in my tank!

Or atleast I think so. I recently added some zoas about 8-10 in. from my long ten. anemone. The anemone is huge by the way, had him for approx 5 years. Well, came home tonight to find that he moved away from the zoas about 5 more inches, and he looks a little beat up. His tenacles are out but all are curled, and he shrunk himself. I run charcoal so I guess this will help. Chemical War? or not? Anyone else seen this before?

Hey guys, parameters are fine. Ph-8.1, ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-15 (always), calcium-420, kh-7. The anemone moved another couple inches during the night. Still looks a little shriveled. But better. I guess I will just watch and see what happens, although now he is right below my yellow colony polyps, and when he does open up (his full 11in or so) he will be over them. Maybe I should of left the zoas at my friends house?

Anemones are weird critters...you may have changed the water flow by bumping the power head, or the new rock your new critter sits on changed the current. Or the anemone is hungry and thinks a new spot will offer a better assortment.
These and about 100 other reasons is why an anemone moves...as to why it shrunk...mine used to go to the size of a big toe and inflate to 12 inches...it just what they do

My anenome shrinks when he's moving around. Atleast he stays on the same rock, so I can move hime if I need too.

Well, I just moved the zoas to the upper part of the tank, and moved the anemone back to a place close to where he was, fed him (yea he ate) and he seems happy now. I have had this guy for approx 4 years, and he rarely moves. I haven't changed my flow, only added the zoas. They must not like each other hehe, i fixed them!
But hopefully all is well.
