Chili Coral Help

I have a chili coral in my tank, and I have not seen it open up to feed in a long time (over a month). It does not "look" dead---its color is still vibrant red, its not decomposing etc, but its just there.
Is there anything I can do to help it 'wake' up if it is alive still??
Did it go dormant?? (do corals do that??) it used to open all the time, but now its just "there".

UMMMM, you lost me.
Aside that they are non-photosynthetic, filter feeders, am I missing something??

Yup.. Target feeding is best though
I target feed 2-3 times a week but like I said, hasnt opened up in over a month.......
It would always open up before I went to bed when the moonlights were on, and would still be open in the morning when I got up before lights were on.
I guess its just not happy right now.
Dont know what else I can do except watch it???

My Chili coral did the same thing... I actaully took it out of the tank and put it in QT because I thought it might be dying... Stayed like that for 1.5 months... then it opened up out of the blue... I find that if it stops opening, pick it up and "dust it off" a bit... it seems to not like anything resting on it's skin. If you re-orient the coral (flip it over, turn it around) it will open up again. They do like some water flow around them, so putting them in a cave is not always the best solution. These corals are typically found in large groups where water current is sufficient. Is your coral attached to a rock? Can you move it easily? If not, I suggest trying to direct a little bit of water flow in it's direction... it should help.
But most of all... IT'S NOT DEAD! YAY!

Yep, Glad its not dead...I didnt think it was, but was starting to wonder!!!
I will move it around sinceit is attached to a piece of rock. I'll have to figure a good location, since I have a Naso that likes to move things--(I hate this fish!!
) Thanks for everyones help!!

They need flow, low light, fed and to hand upside down to due their best. The hanging upside down seems like a small thing but it is very important.
