My temp has been around 78-81 for the past 2 weeks. Soon i will be adding my 150w MH sunpod, will that make it alot hotter?
The room is above my garage and it gets pretty cold at night?
So you think i should get one?

I think you will be ok. At least with the sunpod you will have an open tank, and you could always use a clip-on fan.
The way I set my temp was I logged my temps for 2 days. The highest temp was about 81.5, I set my heater for about 81 that way my temp stays a consistent 80-81. You can run your tank as hot as 85 or so, as long as it does not fluctuate. The fluctuation is what has the potential to create problems. Also what species you plan on keeping could influence where you should keep your temp at. HTH

Thanks Subielover
Also forgot to mention i have not been using a heater.. That ok?
Im not sure what i want coral wise yet, i just dont wanna limit my choices because of temp and what not. I will keep an eye on the temp the next few day and see if i can get it to stay set.
Once i add the sunpod wont it get hot? Should i just get a clip on fan now and save time?

Yeah get the fan now so you have it, and get a heater, 50 watt should be fine. It will help you to maintain a temperature.

Have you bought a heater yet? Im curious to know what brand/watts you have or plan on getting?
Also, I too have seen clip on fans, I hear it brings down the temp 3 or 4 degrees. It can also cause evaporation to happen quicker.

ive been searching around the posts, i usually see either 50w or 100w heaters for 24gallon size tanks.
