chiller help

just looking for some people's thoughts. I am going to be getting a Chiller for my 100gal. I am running 2x 250w MH and 4x 65w Blue Actinic. What would be the cheapest and best chiller. What brand? from where? anything would be helpful..

I would not buy any chiller without the word 'titanium' in its description. Without the titanium coil, your cold coil wont pass its cool to the water as well.... If I was to get a chiller, I would get the drop-in kind. It is easier to plump. Also, you dont have to worry about introducting more heat due to yet another pump. Aqua Logic makes good chillers. You probably need a 1/4 HP.

HP, Watts, BTU is just different unit of the same thing:
Watts = HP * 746
Watts = BTU * 0.293
- A 1/4 HP chiller uses 187 watts
- A 5000 BTU window AC unit uses 1465 watts
- A dorm fridge uses around 100 watts

OKAY. Thanks... still if anyone has any other good chillers they know of that will not kill the bank account let me know.
