Chiller opinions

Has anyone tried the Arctica Titanium Chillers? I'm planning on getting a 1/10 hp that's rated up to 130 gallons. Would it be enough to handle my 125g with a sump of roughly 20-30g so 150g perhaps total? Are they easy to maintain and repair if needed? Any pics of who ever has them installed would help a lot too

1/10 hp for a 125 gallon? seems way small. i had to go with a 1/4hp for my 75g. one of the best investments ive made for that tank.

Really? Wow, I guess it's not going to work then. I was thinking the 1/10 because on a website it said it was for 130g

I actually had the 1/10 for my 60 gallons with MH, and it wasnt cutting it.
It was on constantly and would take forever to drop the temp. I had to upgrade to the 1/5 one. Now that one i highly recommend.

This pretty much means I'll be needing either the 1/4 or the 1/4, that's almost double the money...
I might end up moving to Alaska instead and avoid buying a chiller

I have the same brand but a 1/5 hp it is rated for 180 gallons. I live in S. Fla and with my sump I am pushing 140 gallons. Unit works great and has been very reliable. I did buy it used for $300.

its better to get the biggest chiller you can get ! rather than to upgrade again later. jbj is really good.although i have only 1/3 on and 450 gallon system it take 2 hours to cool down with fan and all.now i have to get a 2 hp for the next project

I have a JBJ 1/3HP on my 75g and it's great.....although it does sound like the Orbitz Hovercraft when running, which makes me glad I went with this size. It only stays on for a few minutes to get the temperature down to my desired setting.
