My chocolate chip star will not eat at all. My lfs told me to feed it little gold fish, they told me to just put one under it while it is on the glass. Every time i do this, it just moves on and leaves the fish. What am i doing rong?

Doesn't yours ever come up the side of the tank and extend its arm out at the water surface. With mine ,whenever he does that(everyday)i feed him.I don't know about goldfish, but i use shrimp, scallops and squid.Just put it on his arm and watch it move down to his mouth.Pretty cool.

yeah thats what i did too. it lifted one of its hands out of the water and i would place a huge chunk of formula one on the inside and it would always take it. i did it once a day it grew 1in in 1 months o_O

Your LFS told you to feed it goldfish? Like goldfish feeder fish?
They are not fish eaters. While they may eat a bit of silverside, it is not really a good food for them.
Pieces of shrimp, krill, scallop, clam, etc are preferable, even shrimp pellets
How long have you had the star and what are your parameters, esp specific gravity?

Your LFS gives horrible advice.
It definitely should not be fed goldfish....but I am sure they enjoyed you spending money to buy them. It is both an unnatural diet - and a relatively dangerous one, due to the ability to introduce diseases to the rest of your fish. Would strongly discourage feeding them goldfish. And I would strongly suggest a new LFS :(
