I recently got a juvi-changing to adult, and at the time didn't even know what it was.The good folks here helped me.I was doing research on him and i am quit amazed at the change this fish goes thru.Does anyone have one,and could i see a pic of yours as an adult. It really develops into a completly different and awesome looking fish. Also how long on average does this change take.Mine is doing very well in QT and i may add him next week. Thanks in advance

mimic tangs and chocolate tangs are the same thing. i use to have one in my 135. it was a very beautiful fish that you will like once it's finished changing. i don't have any pics of it on hand but trust me on this you'll like the new look.

That would be cool though,,,
Honestly.i don't think my LFS really knew either. It was listed as a yellow philippine tang($24.99).I had no clue what it was,but figured what the heck.Got him home and posted a pic here, someone instantly knew it was a mimic changing into an adult-chocolate tang.Did a google, and i am very happy with what this fish is going to end up looking like. Not that its not cool looking now,but the end result is very nice.
I'll post a pic once he's in DT.

I have a chocolate tang. Just know that when it changes and especially gets bigger, you will find it to be one the most beautiful fish out there!
