I looked but couldn't find a topic on this, feel free to delete if this is on here already...anyway.
This video made me cry like a baby but I seriously can't help it...anyone with a heart can't help it!

These men raised this lion since he was a cub, they found him trapped in a tiny cage, then a year later they go looking for him since they released him into the wild and well...look what happens. It's so happy....reminds me when I was a vet tech and I saved a coyote and she would jump on me.

OK not to knock any of this great feelings this video brings people.
BUT As someone who has worked with large exotic cats for a number of years I need to clear somethings up.
First off there time line can't possibly be correct. IF it has really been a year since they had reintroduced this young male to the wild. Then they must of released this guy when he was just weeks old. A male lion starts to grow it mane at a year old. and pretty much has a full mane at 2 years of age. Ofcourse there is variance among individuals but not that much. They can successfully mate at about 18 months, and trust me a fertile female has no interest in a maneless male.
I can pick on more things but i wont.
Im just saying i think the story is true i just think it had only been a few months after release when this video was shot.
It is a great feeling to feel appreciated by large cats, especially lions. tigers are literally like 300lbs+ house cats in there personalty. Lions on the other hand show much less emotion.

I just think they stretched the truth a bit is all.
It's an internet mass-email thing, and we all know how those things go. I got it about a year ago.
It is absolutely a great story. Too bad they usually don't turn out anything like that. There's no doubt that particular lion had a very strong bond with those two guys. In reality though, you have to wonder when that very behavior is going to either A) get the lion shot by strangers it misplaces trust in, or B) kills somebody.

I kept waiting for the lion to attack them.

Great video though
