Cirolanid Isopods

Well guys... I think I have these things in my tank and im really praying that they are not it. Is it a possibility that some "good" pods would be on a fish. If they are cirolanid what can I do to get rid of them. BTW i have a 72 gal tank so taking stuff out would be

You may want to do a search. I believe Bang Guy wrote a piece on them. Cirolanids are pretty "characteristic" with big beady eyes. (yikes!) As the cure is pretty extreme (sorry) let's cross that bridge when we are sure of it.

I was doing some research and I actually caught one. Im pretty certain that they are cirolanid. By any chance would a mandarin eat them?

I know this isnt what you have but it will show you the divesity of these guys and size differences that occur.

so what can i do. as for what i read... it seems that all i can iks fish them out and hope that they dont latch on to fish...

In part you can try trapping, but I believe one of the only most effective means is to remove all the fish for quite a long time (starve them out....) Otherwise, it is unlikely you will eradicate them in other ways.

would a Sphaeromatid "take a ride" on a fish by any chance?
If a cirolanid latches on will it let go, or once its on its on?
The reason why I ask is because the one that was on my fish let go by itself. It was on its anal fin. I will wait for tonight and try to catch some more!

well I caught a few tonight of different sizes using a turkey baster. Couple of questions (btw still trying to identify what the heck I have)
What are the differences between a cirolanid and aegid isopod.
When people say roll up... exactly how much is roll up. Like a total ball or just bending more or less....

Can you get picks? In general, these guys would not "take a ride" on a fish, as you put it, unless they were parasitic. But that is JMO.
