Clam ID??

OK, so here is the story. I purchased some corals online recently and due to the fact that my order took awhile to be delivered, I received a couple of freebies.
One of the freebies is a really nice clam. I'm not sure what type of clam it is however. I do not have MH lighting, so I have never really researched clams. It was my understanding that clams require MH lights.
I have 216 watts of T-5 lights in a 55g tank with LPS and softies. Could someone please ID this clam if possible. Also, is there anychance that I could maintain this clam with my lighting if I position it near the top of the tank?
Thanks...

Its a toughy. Either maxima or crocea. Judging strictly by mantle space, I would say its a maxima. Also you may be able to keep it alive, does each bulb have an individual reflector or what? What is the name of the fixture as well, maybe someone who knows T5s better than me could comment.

That's a Crocea. A Maxima has a more wavy mantle. A Derasa would have a smoother shell. Either way, it's one of the more difficult clams. It needs good water conditions and a lot of light.

put it on top of ur tank and it wil be fine. ur t5 is not the greatest, but will do. just provide proper calcium and not too much flow. make sure it doesnt fall off that rock!
