Clam lighting

14g BC. I'm updating my lighting though... and was curious if the 70 watt sunpod is enough for a clam?

Then yes, it would be enough. Just make sure you know the requirements of clams other than light. A 14g might be a little small for a clam, though. They are GIANT clams lol

I know after they get to be 3-4" they don't need to be fed other than high light..
What else did you have in mind?

Sorry Cocoacf, I don't have an answer for the lighting but would like to clarify.........Crocoa are the "smallest of the giant clam with maximum size of 6inches". I'm interested in getting this clam for my 90g, that's why this caught my attention. So if this info is incorrect, please, correct me.

Crocea are generally the smallest, but are also the hardest to care for. Like all other clams, they require high light, adequate calcium levels, and a mature tank which means totally stable water conditions such as temp, salinity, pH, and little to no nitrates or phosphates.

70w mh is kind of weak for a crocea. u will need to put it high up on the rockwork. also, how mature is ur tank?

Plan to fail.
The tank is to small and it is very unlikely you will be able to maintain the stable water parameter that clam needs.
