clam only nano?

I have 2 ten g tanks and if i put them side by side I can light them w 192w pc.
I would like advice as to the set up equipment.
I can get lr and ls from my 55g display so thats not a problem
I don't plan to keep any fish at all, do i need a skimmer?
how big should ph's be?
thanks

You won't need a skimmer. Skimmers are always nice, but they aren't a necessity unless you have a reef tank. So let me get this straight. You have two ten gallon tanks that you're putting side by side under the same light fixture? So you basically have two tanks you want to work with. I would put a 100gph - 150gph powerhead in each tank (Maxi-Jet powerheads are recommended. They're cheap and they work well :) ). When it comes to powerheads, you want about 10-15 times the size of your tank (for you, it's 10 gallons x 10-15 times the turnover rate, which equals between 100 and 150gph).

lefty yup, 2 tanks. woo hoo!
the light is from my old 29 which is now fuge/sump for main display. It lights the two tanks very well.
I figure I can do weekly water changes and use the water in my larger tank which is med flow/ med lighting, so it really won't cost me much.
so just lr/ls, light, heater and ph?
then I could keep clam?
coooo!

You may also want a filter to keep the water clean. Whisper power filters are relatively cheap and they work well. =)
I assume you will be checking the water temperature and the like as you would your 55g?
After that, it sounds like you're all set! :D

do you mean a hob filter w fiber sleeve? I have two small ones.
I don't use carbon on the main tank because of sump/fuge
should i use it on a nano?
checking temp is about the only thing i check in the main tank.
that and salinity/sg. I don't do much testing
In fact, barring sg and temp, I don't really test for anything!

Well, any filter really, as long as you have one. I doubt it really matters if you're just keeping clams =).
Wow, you don't check your nitrates or anything? I guess as long as your tank seems to be doing well, it's not a problem.
Good luck with your nano! :D

Why not hooking it up with your current 55 and you really wouldn't have to about taking care of a small tank separately.
