clam under t5 + power compacts?

Not all of them I believe some of them are actually more at home boeing into the rockwork.
 
my lfs has a150 gallon with like 4 strips of light on it. they are pcs i think. and they have a blue clam in there thats been there along time on the rocks.
but their tanks for clams have metal halides

Derasa clams can adapt to lower lights and prefer to be on the sandbed. With your lighting setup however I would suggest up high in the tank on the rock.
 
ah. i really want a clam. ive had one in my biocube (when i was a noob) and it was a big mistake. i bought a 10+ inch clam for 100 and it died after like 1 or 2 months. i felt horrible. at my other LFS they have two brownish clams under t5 lights

I would say most likely NO CLAM would survive under that long term unless the types of bulbs were reversed; like 455 watts of T5s or whatever it was.
