you'll get mixed answers here on this board...with a great T-5 fixture and individual reflectors on each bulb you and achieve great par ratings...me, personally, i like MH fixtures for clams...JMO

so is that a yes or no?
Tell us a little bit more about the fixture. jtrzerocool mentioned individual reflectors, do you have them? If you are not sure just post the make and model.

Current USA Nova SunDial T5 Aquarium Lighting Fixture, 4X39 Watt, 36 inch thats the fixture, i mean i think they have their own reflectors from the looks of it? does that change anything?

From what I have researched those models do have the individual reflectors. Personally I don't like the dimensions on 29 gallon tanks. They are way to deep for the amount of gallons of water IMO. With that said you are going to want a clam that can be placed on the rockwork. The crocea and maxima clams can go on the rocks but they appreciate strong lighting so the top of the tank is where you would want to place them.
Not sure how long this tank has been up and running but IMO you should wait at least 3 months before introducing a clam. Some people might suggest longer.

I would place the clam up as high as your rockwork goes. You also want to make sure that your calcium is high enough. At a min of 350.

I kept a 2" Maxima for a couple of months under the same fixture (48" model on a 75g tank). I placed the clam on a rock about half-way up in the tank and it did fine.
....but it looks even better under my new 2X250W MHs.
