hi, new to nanos, but had a 55gal. salt tank 15 years ago, my how things have changed.started a jbj 12 gal nano dx. does this have enough lighting power for any type of clams? thanks for any help. Rob

Nope, not enough for any of the tridacna clams.
You could consider get metal halides. JBJ has the viper K-2 lights that are cheap and would be fine. If you've got some extra $ you could get one of the better fixtures like the Sunpod or from Coralife.

Definitely spend the extra for an aquapod or Coralife metal halide if you go that route.
The K2 Vipers are junk!

how many watts are needed for clams. I know they require great lighting but have wondered if 130watts would be enough but i doubt it.
