Ive decided to to do an informative speech on "How to set up a saltwater quarium " for a college communications class.
Problem: I dont where to begin, the speech is only two to three minutes long and I have to have 3 sources for my research,(cannot be messageboards) but anything . org or .edu, books ect. is legit. an ideas? I could change the topic and reword if necessary.
Kip,,,are ya out there?
Thanks for any help, returning to school at 31 has been an ajustment and taken alot of time away from my saltwater hobby
this is a good way to incorporate it in ,and still be doing homework LOL.

I would use some of the many books that are always mentioned as references for one source, go to an LFS in your area and ask some questions. Of course you may not want to actually use any of the information they give you for obvious reasons, but you can list them as a reference anyway. I'm not sure about the third. Maybe use two books or either find a website that is detailed and not a message board. You can go the the "About" pages. They usually have something on everything.
Congrats on going back to school! It's a rewarding experience.

thank you for your help, I have been searching the site for book references, and I will try your suggestion for LFS as a source.

What tangman said is what I would of said. Do a search for books in every forum, but narrow it to titles only instead of entire post. You'll have to sort through the non-saltwater related ones, but most likely the 1st saltwater related thread you open will mention more than 1 book. Like said--just mention them for the sake of having the resources (who is going to know and even if anyone did the odds of someone calling you on it are slim), use what you know as fact from experience. That said, I think it would be hard to give an informative speech in 2-3 minutes, there are so many ways you could venture to cover all the basics. Maybe cover the minimal basics and close with asking all to please research before attempting. Maybe even tell them they could ask you and you could plug our wonderful forum :D. HTH and good luck.
