Clean an aqualifter pump?

Mine has been locking up lately and i have to unplug it and/or blow through it. I do use a pre-filter that is clean. Can I clean this thing or not? I am ordering another as a spare but I might need to order two. It is not that old either. What gives?

I use cheap denture cleaning tablets. You have to get the generic ones with no mouthwash or other additives. Vinegar works ok too.

never had a problem with mine except you have to take off the air line to clean them often with alge build up, easyer to have some extra air line on hand to change them.i usually take the lines off the top of the cpr filter to make sure they suck from the in line and blow water out the other side, if they work ok you shouldn't have any problems.
