any recommendations on cleaning or circulating live sand? fish, or starfish or crabs... any suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it.

You can pick up sand sifting starfish, hermit crabs, burrowing gobies, pistol shrimp, etc. to mix up the upper layer of live sand.

I wouldn't recommend a lot of the sand sifting creatures out there, research anything you put in your tank, many of the sand sifting animals will eat the small critters that make the sandbed benefincial. I have fighting conch, nassarius snails and certh snails, and they do a fine job of keeping the top of the sandbed stirred and eating detritus (not the sandbed animals).

thanks for the suggestions about the fighting conch, nassarius snails and certh snails... how many do u think a 55gal should need...and i cant seem to find a fighting conch on swf website to buy...is there another name?
