Clean up crew for trigger tank

I'm wondering which inverts will survive a trigger tank? I get brown diatom blooms & I need a clean up crew that can withstand my fish. I was told certain turbo snails & electric blue knuckled hermits can make it. I like trochus snails, but I'm hesitant to introduce them. I need some feedback!

Nothing IMO is guaranteed to make it with a trigger in regards to a CUC. Any decent trigger will make a meal out of any invert. I have a strawberry hermit that has been holding his own for about 4 months now...but I am not holding my breath. Don't spend much money, and be ready to accept losses if you try a CUC with a trigger.

Ok, with triggers, or any aggressive fish, there really isnt any "true" guarantee, per se, but two kinds of snails have made it through a puffer and trigger for me. Margarita snails or mini mexican turbo snails, and some nasarious (spelling) snails but they get eaten a little easier then the margarita snails. Either one is technically food in the wild, but anywho. This is just my opinion, neither lasts forever, but compared to like bigger snails and such, they last much longer. I guess the best thing about the margarita snails is that they are cheap, only about 1.50, compared to like 3 bucks for some other snails. I hope that helps.

I'd look for another way to solve your diatom problem. IMO, CUCs in fish-only tanks are way over-rated. You could search this site, or re-post your diatom problem in the new hobbiest section there is usually an answer. I'd start by checking silicate levels. BTW, if this is a new tank set-up; diatom blooms are normal and usually go away on their own.
