Clean up crew??

What type of clean up crew should I get for my 30 gallon. I have about 55-60 Lbs of LR including the stuff in my refuge. I am open to anything right now. I have one true perc in there and thats it.
Also for lighting. Should I get the 30" moonlighting with 2x 56watt bulbs and 2x moonlights. Or should i get the 36"moonlighting with 2x 96watt bulbds and 3x moonlights and let it hang over about 6". My refuge is right next to me tank also. So that six inches would light the refuge up more too.
Plz help!
Thx.

Personally I'd put about a ten or so in there. Maybe start of with fewer and take it from there. I wouldn't go any higher than 15 though.

sorry I was talking about Hermits....Blue Leg specifically. If you're having that much of a problem with hair algae you might want to up my recommendations. Blue legs are gogin to be one of your best defenses for hait algae. For turbos...add a few more. If they aren't doing the job then its alright to add a few more.

Your lighting will all depend on the type of corals you want to keep gt back to me on that one, and I'll see what I can do for you.

Well I will be have a few High light corals in there like xenia, and a brain but I didnt know if the light fixture itself would be ok directly ontop of the tank? Would it cause the water to heat up?
Should I go with VHO or PC?
Just a couple Q.
Thx for the help
Vince.

If $$ isn't an issue I would use VHO for the actinic and PC of whatver K bulb you prefer, because in my opinion the colors show up nicer under VHO lighting plus you willl have the benifit of still having an high watt PC for intense lighting. Retro fit the VHO and 2X56W PC lights in a 30" hood OR since you want to have high light corals do a 3x56W PC. Either way, get a refugium light for the refugium (A single 9-18w pc would be plenty, could prob. do a reg "grow light" but a PC would be better a good salt LFS should have one of these pretty cheap). VHO will create the least amt of heat, but a fan is fairly easy to install in most hoods so PC wont be that bad, even a vent w/ surface water disturbance would make a big difference. Keep in mind I'm assuming your tank depth is about 18". If I'm wrong you might want to knock off one of the 56W PC in my second option if you want to have some low light corals aswell.
Also, when you say moon light do you mean actinic or actual light ment to mimic the moon because the latter is more a novelty than anything.
Note: both of these sugestions would be easier obtained if you used a retrofit kit.

Ok here is what I think I will do.
1. Build my canpoy to the specs of my tank.
2. Buy a 30" PC moonlighting with x3 96 watt bulbs and three moonlighting $219.59 (helps for night viewing, gives a dusk till dawn feeling?) OR x2 SmartLite Strip Light (30") with half 10,000°K Ultra-Daylight and half Ultra-Actinic $67.49x2 (which combo would you suggest.)
3. Wait till I get some money together and buy a Nice VHO Retro for the diaply also around $100 bucks I THINK
4. Wait till I get some more moeny and buy a 13" PowerCompact SmartLite Retrofit Kit for the refuge. $39.99
How does that sound?
Thx for all your help

Personally I would use your first idea (yes I have $$$ tastes) BUT I would probably only do 2X96W and 1 VHO. A 24" VHO will add about 75W to your total wattage. Your original idea is about 363W v. 267W (12W/g v. 9W/g) total. Your PCs are going to be pretty intense. Plus since you are retro fitting you can always add a 96W if you think you need it and this should save you about $70 or so. So you might be able to get the VHO at the same time.
Also what are the dimensions of your tank? Are you talking about using 96W quads that are 18"? What is your design plan for getting them in your canopy? Are you sure you'll be able to fit 3X96W and the VHO?
