I put in the $99.99 clean up crew special from swf.com a few months ago and it seems half of them have disappeared(crabs & snails),do they eat each other?,I have never seen any of the fish bother them and should I add more to help control the algea?

All tests are ok, I have a tomato clown, yellow tang, yellow tail damsel, atlantic blue angle and a coral beauty, and I have not seen anybody bother anybody but things keep disappearing.

Crabs are known to eat everything...algae, snails, crabs. I avoid them in my reef tank as there other, safer clean up critters in my opinion.

All that is left is empty shells; Diatom, you mentioned there is a better way, can you help me with some ideas?

The blue legs are little evil bas#*%ds. They WILL kill and eat your snails and red(scarlet) leg hermits. Dont let there tiny size fool you.

Snails, conchs, abalone, urchins, bristle worms, all work to keep my reef sparkling clean.
Also a 4" DSB and a refugium with some nice Macro algae for nutirent export works wonders.
