Clean up crew

recently bought a sand sifting star and a turbo snail, well my snail died yesterday, and my star it thriving. Also, if i got hermit crabs or emerald crabs would they try to eat my star???

I don't think the hermit crabs will, but i'm not sure about the emerald crabs. How old is your tank? Sand sifting stars normally thrive for the first few months, but then die b/c there's not enough "stuff" in the sand. How big is your tank? How deep is your sandbed?

30 gal, with a 4 inch sand bed. 1 month old

keep a good eye on that star, sorry i couldn't help you with the emerald crabs, but i don't have any crabs besides my hermies...

as I said in the other thread my emerald is a bit testy with his hide out and took a few chunks out of my CC star when it got too close. other than that he hasn't really been a problem.
