Hey guys...I have a 75g fowlr tank with a yellow tang, picasso trigger, niger trigger, snowflake eel and a domino damsel. Wet/dry with protein skimmer and uv ster. Any thoughts on a crew I could put in to help with the algae? I do water changes every 2 weeks, but sometimes after a week the algae is pretty nasty. Any suggestions would help!

Are there any fish that will eat the green algae like off the coral,etc.. I have an algae blenny but he only eats off the glass of the aquarium it seems. Any fish do a good job with the algae and CC?

if your triggers are not juvenile, and by juvenile I would mean under 2.5 inches, then there isn't much chance you can get away with putting some hermits and snails in there unless you don't mind an expensive snack. Some folks over in the aggressive forum would recommend trochus snails, but I haven't seen these over where I live. Most crabs and smaller snails are just an expensive snack for that tank.

as to what to do about your algae, what type of water are you using? If you are using water with high levels of phosphorous or silicates in it, that will cause your diatom algae bloom. However, the novice error of overfeeding can also introduce some algae bloom so beware there.
You can try a phospho-silicate remover to throw in with your carbon in your filter, or do what I do and clean your tank quite reguarly :) However, once your tank has been up for a long time this problem will diminish, so be patient my friend.

My tank has been up now for about 18 months. I do regular water changes every two weeks, and scrape down the tank during that time as well. I have those two triggers, so I suppose their messy eating habits are contributing to the algae. I also only feed them every few days...they seem to be just fine this way. I am just using tap water for my water change-mylfs guy (very knowledgeable)suggested tap.

Most likely your tap water has phosphates/silicates and could be creating your algae problem... I would switch to RO water... I get it from my LFS for .39 per gal...
