Clean your tank witrh Ca Ascorbate?

I've brought up the use of Vitamin C a few times before because I heard it was good for the health of zoos(I have no idea if it is but I tried it). Anyway, I got some unexpected results and thought I'd share them.
I would put anywhere from 1-2 tsp a day of powered Calcium Ascorbate (Sodium Ascorbate initially) and althought I cannot say that my zoos were helped I did notice a few things.
1. The general clarity of my water increased.
2. A reduction in visible slime 'algae'
3. An increase in the foam of my skimmer and increased skimming.
Has anyone else tried this and gotten similar results?
My thought is that the Vitamin C is not actually doing anything, but rather the increase in a carbon source is doing something similiar to what happens when people use vodka or sugar which feeds bacteria which in turn get skimmer resulting in a reduction in various limiting nutrients that algae need.
Disclaimer: I am not advocating that anyone goes out and buys Calcium Ascorbate and starts dumping it into their tank, but if you have, could you share your results with me?

Sure. I've dosed vitamin c a few times. I did notice a difference. I guess I'm just lazy. Lol.
I believe one of the ingredients in salt mixes is vitamin c.

You will notice a difference in the colors of your corals and the health of your fish. No doubt. I think the average someone doses is 500mg vitamin c a day per 50 gallOns starting off. Then gradually increase it to 2000k. I wouldn't recommend doing it without a decent skimmer though.

Sounds like a plan. Let me know if you get any interesting results.
One tip, don't premix the vitamin C since it loses its strength quickly when disolved.

Yeah. I vaguely remember.
Want me to make a new thread for my findings?
I dosed 500mg tonight in roughly 25g of water volume.
