Cleaner Clam question

I am getting some cleaner clams and the site says "Great for refugiums." I have caulerpa in my fuge that is anchored down in the sand. Now to my understanding, these clams bury themselves in the sand. So the question is, will these clams destroy my caulerpa "garden" I have by moving around underneath the plants? Would it be better to just put them in my display tank?

I have one and haven't had any problems or even seen it since I put it in the tank and it buried itself.

Once they are buried, they are fat dump and happy. They dont move around on top or in the sand.

I have actually seen mine move around a little, just kind of wiggling under the sand.
