cleaner clams

how big do these get and I heard they help lower the trAtes...
is this true.. I have a 30g how many should I get

they can get up to fist size it is usually one per 5 gallons of water. They like to burrow into the sand beds but some stay out of the sand very cool looking. If you hit the sandbed you will see a puff of smoke that is the sand flying up from hitting a clams. Mine were a buck a piece SWF sells them for five each.

I bought mine at the local fish store (littlenecks) 7 cost me 3.00. and from another post they really do eat up nitrates we'll see.
