Cleaner shrimp dying?

We had a cleaner shrimp for 4 months and all was fine, he was eating and cleaning and moving around fine all night. we got up in the morning to find the cleaner shrimp, wrasse and coral beauty all 4 months old and fine earlier dead in the same spot. We did recently find a hitch hiker urchin which had grown to a point where we could see it. only heriwe could think was the issue. All other shrimp, hermit crabs and snails all fine and still fine? so we removed the urchin.
Since then we have tried to buy 2 more cleaner shrimp and both have died within a half hour?
any ideas?
Tank is good with the exception of the nitrates slightly high but with the camel backs and misc other shrimp and vertibrates being fine we can not figure out what it could be?
Only thing i can find is could be copper but that would kill everything else including snails, fish, clams and coral.

Shrimp are very ticky to acclimate...you have to go real slow adding tank water to balance the bag and tank, and make sure they adjust to the change in temps....so drip method or float the bag, but slow is the key.
If acclimation is not the problem....
Are you are getting the shrimp from the same store? Switch and get your critters someplace else, and see if that makes a difference.

This sounds to me like a chemical incident. I see no way any Urchin could have caused this. Without knowing what your water parameters were at the time and what they are now I can be of no help.

Wow, I missed the wrasse and coral beauty...I was going on the report no cleaner shrimp could survive your tank.
