One of my cleaner shrimp molted today and its carapace is still on the bottom of the tank. Is there any harm in leaving it there or should I remove it?

Some remove it and some don't but it wont harm anything to leave it. Scavangers, pods and bacteria will brake it down in short order.

It won't harm anyting. It will happen often, and you don't want to be chasing it around. If you have a good clean-up crew they will take care of it.

I appreciate your reply and I sort of knew that this was the case. No persons run around in the ocean and pick up shrimp molt. How often do they molt?

Hermits and shrimps will often eat their own discarded exoskeleton for nourishment after they molt. No harm in leaving it in, in fact more beneficial for the particular molting invert
