New to the the salt water fish hobby. After the cleaner shrimp molts do you leave the molt in the tank and let the cleaning crew take care of it, or should you remove it?

If you can get to it you can take it out.. if not dont worry about it. It wont harm your tank if you leave it in.

How much of a cleanup crew do you have? You can leave it in, but if it is still there the next day then remove it if you can.

I never remove the molting out of my tanks, they seem to go back to eat'em later....I have once heard they do that to get calcium, it beats me.....

I've done both....CBS molted and the SLF crab ate the molt, CS molted and the CBS ate the molt and SLF crab molted - no one ate that! (big chickens). I took it out and saved it.....kinda neat to look at.

Yeah, I'm of the opinion that you could leave it in, I never remove molts from any of my shrimp. They contain calcium and iodine, so they add to the natural trace elements needed by many things in your tank.
