cleaner shrimp question

Purchased my first invert about 48 hrs ago. My shrimp has been hanging upside down from live rock since I got him? Is this behavior normal?

yep they do that.. and sway from side to side.. and hitch a ride on fish to clean them... even inside of their mouths.. crazy right?

you can also train them to "clean" your hand....pinch some food between two fingers and get close to the shrimp, after a few times, they will associate your hand with food and start to clean your hand (mine did this without the food, they are all BIGTIME cleaners).

All mine do is swing and hang upside down until the lights go ut and then they venture out.

mine took right to all of my fish....I have 5 cleaners and 3 fire shrimp in my 125...I have seen them cleaning gills, fins, and my flagfin angel even likes to have his "teeth brushed"...he will open wide and the shrimp will clean the inside of his mouth. I have 2 separate groups, there are 3 that stay on one side of the tank and 3 that stay on the other side (the other 2 are "wanderers").
