Cleaner Shrimp Shedding?? What Is This??

30gal fish only so far.. new tank. few fish snails and crabs....i bought a cleaner shrimp yesterday and he did fine but this morning i awoke in disbelief to this...some kinda shell.. the cleaner shrimp is still in there and hes fine but what is this and why did he do it.. i mean i know some inscects do this but a shrimp?? has any1 seen this before? :notsure:
ill try to get better pics. my digital is always focusing on the glass vs whats inside the glass..

all my shrimp do it at lesat once per week I have 2 peppermint, 1 coral, and 1 cleaner I never worry about the shells some times my fish or the blue legs eat them

oh. and i got all excited over nothing.. dang i thought ..FINALLY SOME ACTION!.... so i shoudnt take it out??

no theres no need to take the shell out. usually the shrimp that shed it will eat the shell or part of it.my CBS goes around eating all the shrimps skins.

My cleaner shrimp used to shed just about once every 1-2 weeks. Some recommend adding some iodine to aid in developing its shell, however I have never done this myself and have never found the need to do so.
