Sorry to say, but if you haven't seen him in a couple of days, he has probably gone to the great barrier reef in the sky. I've lost 2 of them myself, so I am speaking from experience, unfortunately. What other fish / inverts do you have?

Normally they hide after molting because they are waiting for skin to harden, but for two days thats to long... feel the skin and see if it is hard or soft.

how big is your tank, and how many nooks and crannies can he hide in? they do hide after molting because the new layer needs time to harden. Until it does, they're more vunerable. If you have a bigger tank with a lot of hard-to-see places, he might just be hiding. Give him some more time, and if you don't see him for another few days, he's probably gone permanently... sorry!

One of mine parished as he molted some of my hermits got a hold of him and started eating at first I thought it was just the skin then I noticed the skin blowing across the sand. I was so mad at those Hermits I took them all out and put them in my 30. Maybe someone or somthing in the tank ate him. Just a thought
Keep looking for him.
