Cleaner Shrimp

How long does a Cleaner shrimp take to act normal? I put mine in 2 hours ago and he has just been in one spot, swaying with the current? Is he still acclimating?

Just hanging out it sounds like -- which they do a lot of time until food hits the water.

dont worry i recently got one and same thing it was sitting on my filter for about 5 hours i was FREAKING OUT! but the next day he found is little area and is doing very good now!
they have the coolest personalitie they will hide in caves then when you go in the room they will come out of the cave to see you and when you feed youre fish it is so fun watching him.
good luck and youre lil shrimp will be just fine!

Don't worry about it. I bought 2 cleaners last September. I didn't see them at all for 3 days and assumed they were dead. Turns out they were just shy at first and hid in the rocks until they were comfortable to come out. Today, they are twice the size and they are all over the place. The first time one of them molted, I saw what I thought was a dead cleaner on a rock only to be shocked by seeing him alive a litttle later on. I now have a 3rd cleaner plus one coral banded shrimp and they are as much fun to watch as fish. Good luck with yours.

Yeah just give some time. It will be all over the tank. Mine will actually feed right out of my hand(well fingers). Like the last post. My cleaner is very fun to watch. Mine never hides unlike my Coral Banded Shrimp.

I'm glad I found this thread...I bought my cleaner shrimp 2 days ago, and he has been hiding ever since as well. Yesterday I woke up and found his exoskeleton and for a minute thought he had died (b4 I realized he was hiding behind a rock.)
