Cleaner Shrimp

I bought a cleaner shrimp over the weekend and it was bitten in two within 24 hours. I was told by my LFS that fish don't kill the cleaner shrimp because they are helpful. I have a domino, blue devil damsel, painted damsel, regal tang, flame angel, and a tomato clown......none of which are bigger than three inches. Has anyone else had problems with cleaner shrimp ?? I have a nice rock for it to hide in. Am I just not going to be able to keep one ??

I wouldn't try another one-- your shrimp didn't bite himself in half so the murderer is still in your tank and will probably be happy to do in another.

The rock that I have is not live..and I know that there is nothing living in it. Should I try to get a bigger cleaner shrimp ? Or maybe I should keep him in my QT tank until he's bigger. None of my fish have ever killed each other, or even fought in front of me (other than the occasional nip). I'm sure that has little bearing when it comes to potential food, although they didn't eat the shrimp, just bit it in half.

Thats what I'm thinking. The fish he listed don't seem to be the type to bite a shrimp IN HALPH. Mantis shrimp maybe.Or a small eel?STEVE
