i am wondering what kind of inver cleaners (if any) that i can keep with a lionfish, clown trigger, emporer angel & wrasse. If there aren't any, does anyone have another solution to reduce the algae on the tank glass? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
ps: when calculating stocking levels in a tank, how to you account for inverts such as turbo snails and the like?

In the case of my 2 big puffer tanks I use only what are called large Queen Conch Snails. 2 to a tank (125 & 58) and there is hardly any algae ever. I use to dread cleaning the 58 Dogface tanks back glass and now I do not have to. They rae smooth rounded snails and the Puffs cannot get a grip on them (as they like to have snails over for dinner- theirs). I have tired other snails but either the Puffers get them or when I had a Trigger in the one tank it would get them.

some people here have had success with giant trochus snails and cowries. maybe a huge left handed hermit could work if you didnt have any triggers or puffers or wrasses but really nothin will work.

unfortunately, i plan to have at least one trigger and a wrasse, unless i can find another species that is compatible with triggers, etc. and can stir the sand. this is a 200g tank and i'll tell ya, scraping algae in there is not 15min. job. ugh!

i bought one of those red sea 40 buck cleaner wrase for 11 bucks today, he is like 3 inches and the clown chased him a little but he cant get him, hope he does ok.

I to just bought a red sea cleaner wrasse which is the first one of these I have seen around here in years. According to what I read they are very hard keepers but the one I got has been doing fine at my lfs for about 3 weeks and will eat live brine. It is in my qt tank for the moment while I decide where it is going to be used. My other 5 Pacific Cleaner Wrasses are doing fine in their respective tanks and altho I know many here do not favor them I have been lucky of late in getting good ones that eat and stay alive. Altho the Red Sea is much higher in price then the common Pacific I have to admit it is nothing special in looks but I like rare fish sometimes and I got such a deal!

do these wrasses eat algae? or do they clean other fish? also, i am assuming since they are wrasses they stir the substrate?

No they don't sift sand nor sleep under it. All of mine sleep in barnacle holes and spin mucous cocoons to sleep in. They don't eat algae at all. They are active moving all day long and as they grow they are pretty darn good looking fishes. As of today my new Red Sea Cleaner (in qt tank at moment) was eating live brine and had calmed down somewhat. Its first 2 days it would dive under a piece of rock whenever I approched the tank, today it did not. Still figuring where it can go, would like it in 65 with Passer Angel and Sailfin Tang but there is a Pacific Cleaner Wrasse in there for the last few months and I am not sure if it would allow another one in without a fight (although different colors and the Red Sea is a little fuller around then the Pacifics). Anyone have any ideas if this might work.
