Cleaning crew

I hear you folks write often about cleaning crew. I'm setting up a new tank (cycling almost complete) So my question is two fold. What critters make up a cleaning crew? and, Should I put them in the tank before I introduce fish?

Snails, crabs and shrimp!! I would put them in after the cycle and before fish.

Have you ever bought the reef packages from this site? They seem to have everything you mentioned

I never bought a reef package. I make up my own list and order from them. Some stuff in their reef packages i dont need.

any suggestions? I have a 55gal w/ 50lbs of LR. I plan to populate it with mellow fish

I would get 20 astreas snails , 20 nass. snails, 2 mexican turbo snails and 20 scarlet hermit crabs. I like to keep my tanks clean up crew stocked well.
