ok well after my tank being shut down for a while i have started it back up and am selling the live rock and live sand... needless to say... im not sure how "alive" either are right now... the rock seems to have lost all coraline algae on it and is now covered in some green algae
same with the sand
so is there some way i could clean up the rock and the sand to give it a better appearance for when im selling it? thanks
heres a pic to show you what i mean

thanks

Halo, I moved your thread to the reef section hoping for you to get some responses. Personally I think that the rock is dead (appears to be) consicering how it looked before.

thanks for moving it i wasnt sure where to put it.. seeing there is no ROCk forum lol
so you think its dead? is there any way besides a lot of time to get it back looking the way it was? it was in saltwater the whole time i just turned off the filter and lights
how could i get rid of the algae that is just loosely growing on it?

You could remove the rock and scrub it with a new soft bristle brush in sw and then replace it in the tank. Only time will get the beneficial critters and coraline back on and in it. (with lights and circulation that is)

Yes, have a bucket of sw ready. Take the rock out of the tank, scrub it, swish it around and then replace it in tank.
