hey i wanted to buy some mag float cleaning magnets..are they any good? anyone have any luck with magnets? and which ones did you use? are the mag float any good?

I have one and it works great. You'll never have to put your arm in the water again. If you have sand I suggest that you don't go too close to the sand cause sand sometimes get in between the magnet and the brush and can scrap your glass. It's a must buy, you'll enjoy it.

We have a mag-float. I think it the best thing on the market. It works really great. Just be careful if you have sand, not to get it in between the magnets. It will scratch the glass. :D

Yep - Mag floats are great. As mentioned watch the sand.
I like to do the side - front - the other side -but stop about 1/2 inch from the sand. Then when all glass done, run the magnet carefully along the sand line all the way back around the tank. If you do happen to pick up a particle of sand, and miss seeing it, if you do scratch the tank it will only be at the sandline.
So far - no scratches.

mag floats are the best!!!!! make sure u pay the extra cash for one that floats so it doesint sink to the bottom!

get the mag float. the extra $$ spent is great. the floating part will prevent your tank from being scratched like mine ( :( aarrgh!) because it won't pick up sand particles unless you use it at the sand level.

I posted about these earlier, and Mag-Floats are indeed the best $10 I spent on my aquarium. No more cleaning hassles, just slide it around and let it float to the top to take it out and clean the magnet when it's covered in slimy stuff.
