I dont know what to call this topic so yeah....
anyways....
I was woundering what a good combination of fish would be with a 55G? I am expirenced in Fresh water and I know this is an impossable question just because it depends soo much on your pwersonal taste!
But I am so tired of looking by myself....so I am asking you.
I kindof want a gfish that can go well with a snowflake eel, but that might be impossable so.....
Anyways, I was thinking along the lines of a yellow tang and ect. I guess I want a "Community tank." I know 55G is really small for a SW tank, but its as good as I can dfo right at the moments' spare.
So I was thinking:
1 Yello Tang
4 Blue Green Reef chromis
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 snowflake eel(?) (I know these are very agressive, but how will it affect fish?)
Any suggestions to go with these?

55 is absoultly fine for a SW tank, you just have to know when your tank is full and be careful not to overstock the tank. Clownfish + Chromis are awesome for that size. The eel is fine too, i know people that keep eels (people on this site) in 40 gallons. The yellow tang would eventually outgrow your 55 gallon tank, it even is gonna soon outgrow my 75 gallon! I'd say go with 2 clownfish, 2-3 chromis, and I'm not sure about the eel... it would be good for that size tank, but compatibility wise with the fish, once he gets bigger theres a good chance he would eat the clownfish and the chromis. Hopefully someone else has some more eel experience then me. I'd say skip the yellow tang, if added first he can be really aggresive to all other tank mates, and it will outgrow your tank in the future (and you don't want to be giving away one of your fish!) Good luck and hopefully someone else can clerify the eel issue

I know the snowflake eel get just under 24 inches, but prefers to crawl (Or swim) areound small places. The only thing I am afraid of it eating the others. :(
Ok, so minus the eel and the tang, what would go nicely with these fish? I have to say I HATE wrasses and gobies.
I do like butterfly fish and preticularly the raccoon

Hi!
I had a 25 gallon setup with a Snowflake in it. We moved and had to sell him back to the LFS. I plan on getting another very soon!! They are awesome. I believe a 55 gallon would be more than ample space for a snowflake.
As far as it getting along with fish....If the fish can fit in its mouth, there is a very good chance thats where they will end up. =)

Well, I was thinking it over again last night, and instead of the eel and the yellow tang, I'd keep 2 butterfly fish.
A Copper Banded and a Double Saddle Butterflyfish.
I also like the Heniochus Black & White Butterflyfish

Ethos,
Have you thought at all about a small angel? I have a coral beauty angel, and she's been a great addition to my 37gal. She's out, about, and has actually bonded very nicely with my false perc pair.

I'd suggest maybe an eel and a butterfly instead of two butterfly. I had two heniochus (however you spell it) they didn't have much personality, especially compared to an eel. Eel's are very unique in many ways, if you want one, I'd recommend you get one, a butterfly would be fine with an eel.
