I have (had) a beaufiful leather coral, which my flame hawk decided to make a home in. Needless to say the hawk is now residing in my fish only tank, but my leather coral is under severe stress. All together it probably hasnt opened in 2-3 weeks. It now has developed a deitrus crust on it,which I tried unsuccesfully to blow off with a powerhead. Is there anything I can do to help this coral, so I dont lose it. Can I dip it? Brush it off with something? Any ideas? Thanks

I have a califlower leather that did the same thing...three weeks and it was still all closed up...then 1 day I come home and it was opened up, bigger than ever and the brightest white it had ever been... I did have the deitrus coming off and I gathered it up as it came off....yours sounds ok to me..just watch it and if it stays closed up much longer try moving it to another spot...mine is thriving in good light/moderate current....
